While Americans may not agree on everything, one thing is certain–everyone loves pizza. While Portland once lagged behind many of its peers in the pizza department, these days there are plenty of places in town that would give New York or Chicago a run for their money. Celebrate Portland Pizza Week with a trip (or three) to your favorite neighborhood purveyor of pies for special $3 slices. We have listed a few below to get you started.
- Central Eastside: Inspired by their chef’s love for Mexican street food, Clarklewis has created a special pizza called “Pizza Piedra” for Pizza Week. It features house-made beef barbacoa, sweet corn cream, mozzarella, feta, radish, and cilantro.
- Beaumont: Red Sauce Pizza is dishing up a special “Naughty Nashville Hot Chicken” pizza for Pizza Week, featuring pickle chips and fried chicken tenders tossed in a spicy house Nashville hot sauce.
- Foster: Foster’s two Pizza Week participants, Assembly Brewing and Atlas Pizza, are vastly different styles but equally as delicious. The former serves up Detroit-style pizza alongside their brewed-on-site beers; the latter is East Coast-inspired with rock & roll vibes.
- Greater Brooklyn: Meta Pizza takes their district so seriously that they offer Brooklyn, New York-style pizza right here in Portland! Primarily for takeout, they also have a cute curbside patio!
- Hawthorne: Straight From New York’s “Megan Thee Scallion” pizza is a meal fit for a queen, featuring shiitake mushrooms, daikon radish, braised beef, scallions, and panko crumbs.
Lents: Humdinger’s special “Charlotte’s Revenge” pizza is a fantastic blend of savory, sweet, and funky bleu cheese flavors. They also have raffle prizes and goodie bags happening daily! - Midway: While they aren’t participating in Pizza Week, Stumptown Cuisine is always a Midway favorite! Their pizza dough is handmade fresh every morning and they partner with Grande Cheese Company for their only source of cheese.
- Mississippi Ave: Tartuca’s unique style of dough is always a solid base from which to explore the seasons of the PNW. Their Pizza Week special features green garlic ricotta, kale, Calabrian chili, mozzarella, and garlic oil. Visit between 4-5:30 and double down during their happy hour!
- Montavilla: Known for their Detroit-style pizza, East Glisan Pizza is an all-time favorite spot for pizza in Portland. Their “Thank You Verde Much” slice includes queso fresco, mozzarella, slow-roasted pork shoulder, chile verde sauce, cotija, and house-fried tortilla strips.
- Soul District: Known for their hop-forward brews and cozy vibes, Old Town Brewing’s Soul District outpost is serving up a pickle pizza that is balanced with sweet and spicy chicken.
- St. Johns: Located in a vintage gas station with outdoor seating, Signal Station Pizza has been loved by the community since they opened in 2006. Their Pizza Week special, “Hit Me Banh Mi One More Time,” features all the fixings of a Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwich in pizza form!
- Williams District: Wood-fired and cooked to perfection, Life of Pie is known for being one of the best happy hour locations in PDX! A personal pizza for just, $8? Yes, please!
